Our main three already are uninteresting, early 2010s anime character archetypes at best, at worst, unlikable, especially Shuu. Did we REALLY need another ex? Did Maruto REALLY need to spice that up?

I don't mind the criticism as long as it's constructive and ofc, not being a jerk about it.
If you want a personal opinion from me, as far as this show goes, it's middle of the road. It's not terrible but I wouldn't call it good. I WOULD watch this again over some of the anime this year like Leadale, Shikimori, or Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn, but unless it gets better, I don't see this being much of a rewatch.

shikimori was decent its just that it had too big of a competition, if it was aired in different season it would have been slightly more invested in by other people, plus manga readers overhyped it too much

Honestly the same can be said for a couple of anime last season. Aharen-san, Kunoichi Tsubaki, Healer Girl, Deaimon. In a less jam-packed season, those anime would've REALLY shined.
As far as Shikimori is concerned, even without the competiton, the show's still overrated. Shikimori is a stoic pink-haired waifu, Izumi is annoying, and the side cast ain't much better. Plus Doga Kobo tried too hard to make Shikimori the next Marin, and it shows. Shikimori might be decent by romcom standards, but considering the romcom Doga's put out in the past, by their standards, it's a disappointment.

Kamiya is the only thing good about Shikimori and i won't take any other answer. damn good VA damn good face and hair plus great eyes

shikimori was actually a good ROMCOM, which served it's purpose of being a not plot heavy romantic comedy, and the cast was really enjoyable, compare that to fucking marins anime so fucking retarded.

Imo this feels like an easier to watch Strike the Blood, the banter between characters is pretty good and the action scenes feel good to watch.

Even at 30 i can call a decent anime from the garbage fires and slow burn letdowns that's been being pushed out lately. Youtube reviewers aren't putting the love into the craft like they used to, but running a brand does that. Least his manga reviews are somewhat okay.

And TBH, Glass Reflection did a better summirzation on this season than Gigguk.

This season doesn't have a lot to write home about, and it's mostly sequels.

summertime render was the biggest and best surprise for me as far as new anime go , and the sequels themselves are quite good , classroom of elite, shadows house,kingdom list goes on im quite happy with this season

i mean look at his tier list vod, he put so many in B tier coz he has only watched 1 episode of each due to his wedding and being busy and all so its kinda understandable this season was not good.

I don't blame him honestly. Plus, let's be honest, outside sequels, not a lot to talk about this season. At least we had shows to discuss last season, like Shield Hero S2, Shikimori, and SpyXFamily.
Heck, Summer 2021 is better than this season.

Honestly speaking, I've never been a huge fan of Gigguk or any similar youtube anime reviewers. I've only liked a very FEW reviewers.
As for the mc of this series, I personally think the MC here is alright despite of some calling him "trashy". Though, he might not be the best mc. Still, I would say he's alright in my opinion.

I've always decide on my own whether I really like it or not even if people call those trashy (which I think is an over-used term). Though, I do recognize truly trashy characters/series. That I usually agree with the majority when I can clearly see that the character(s)/series are truly trashy. That's at least my opinion.

Yeah, I didn’t particularly like the MC in the first two episodes, but once his circumstances were revealed his behavior and actions became a lot more understandable and I genuinely started to enjoy the show.

I like trash taste trio because their opinions are always shit its entertaining. This is a good show. Those people who bring up 2010 anime is just nostalgia talking. Of course you can't compare this to some great show on that year, story and animation wise. This is much better than the older anime.
